What to do in Florianópolis in winter

Many people know Florianópolis for its beautiful beaches and warm days, but contrary to popular belief, the Magic Island is a charming destination all year round, even in winter. Even with the colder temperatures, the city offers a variety of great activities and attractions for visitors to enjoy.

If you are planning a trip to Florianópolis during the cold season, here are some suggestions of what to do to make the most of your stay:

1. Take cultural tours

Floripa has a very rich culture and there is good government investment to further encourage this scene. Therefore, when you come here with colder temperatures, instead of enjoying the beach you can enjoy different cultural tours around the region. Here we leave you a list of places you can visit:

2. Visit the historical places on the island.

In addition to the beautiful culture, Florianópolis also has a rich history and many of the ancient monuments are still preserved and open to the public. Be sure to visit the following places when you come to town:

  • Centro Histórico, Mercado Público, Praça XV.
  • Ilha de Anhatomirim;

  • Centro do Ribeirão da Ilha;
  • Forte de Santa Bárbara;

3. Enjoy local cuisine

Last but not least, the Florianopolitan winter is a good time to enjoy delicious local cuisine. Enjoy the cooler temperatures in the region by visiting the city’s bars, cafes and restaurants.

Be sure to visit Florianópolis on the coldest days of the year! In addition to getting to know different places and being able to explore the region without having to face large crowds like in the summer, you will also be able to save on your trip thanks to accommodation opportunities at lower prices.

In winter, the island transforms into a quiet and charming refuge, perfect for those seeking relaxation, contact with nature and unique cultural experiences.
